Ted’s excuse is damn near the SAME one you hear every time a conservative says something stupid in public.  It’s always worse when you’re a woman. There have been TONS of anti Bush sentiments, from Green Day to Eminem. They’ve never come under NEARLY as much fire as the Dixie Chicks had. This is possibly because the majority of people who listen to the Chicks are more conservative, but labeling that as the only reason is short-sighted. There’s misogyny involved in the fact that women artists are supposed to sit there and sing about love whereas male artists get to be activists. They get to be Billie Joe Armstrong or Willie Nelson. Imagine the backlash if it was a black woman who said, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” ^Truth.  And yeah, Ted Nugent has always been a fuck.
